BETONG, 19th September: The Sarawakku Sayang (SKS) 2026 Programme Seventh Series for Concrete Division will resume from 25 to 27th September this year at the Concrete Sports Complex after previously being postponed due to weather conditions.

Deputy Prime Minister of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embassy said the current weather developments as well as positive forecasts by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) are a good sign for the programme to continue.

"That's why we postponed it from the original date because that time of dust was quite dangerous, but the last few days looked better and according to meteorological forecasts it probably won't be worse than today. We pray less and less", he said.

He said this at a press conference after the Sarawakko Coordination Meeting in Central Betong Zone, here today.

He said the programme is expected to attract at least 7,000 visitors, with 48 agencies providing 158 types of services to the community.

Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, is scheduled to attend as a guest of honour for the inauguration of the programme on September 26, in addition to visiting several development projects in the area.

Uggah said that community support and participation are highly welcome, as well as improved road infrastructure development is expected to facilitate the public attendance of the program.

Meanwhile, Deputy Secretary of Government of Sarawak (Operations), Datu Hii Chang Kee, said the program was also accompanied by Sarawak Culture Night on September 25, Folk Concert on September 26 and Fun Run for five kilometers on September 27.

Among the artists scheduled to perform are Mawad, Lucy M, Baby Shima, Bob Yusuf and Qian En.

SKS Betong also offered a total prize of RM120,000, including the e-competition main prize in the form of a car.

After Betong, the SKS was scheduled to take place in the Bukah Division from 2 to 4 October, followed by Sri Aman from 16 to 18 October before continuing in Samarahan City, Serian and Kuching until late November.
