KUCHING (Aug 8): The perimeter survey work on 339 Native Customary Rights (NCR) lands in Kampung Tangga Plaman, Sungai Tamba, and Pulau Tamba Cina in Serian is expected to begin this August.

A report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today said a dialogue session was held by the Land and Survey Department (JTS) to provide detailed explanations and clarifications regarding the approval for the individual measurement of the abovementioned NCR lands.

During the dialogue session, JTS acknowledged that the NCR land documentation initiative by the Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) had significantly facilitated and expedited the measurement process.

To further streamline the land measurement work, JTS had requested landowners to provide cooperation and support to ensure the smooth progress of the measurement process.

Present were state Transport deputy minister Dato Henry Harry Jinep, Sarawak Premier’s Office (Education) advisor Datuk Amar Michael Manyin Jawong, and JTS Serian assistant administrative officer Attin Rimpa.
