New Year’s countdown to remember

AGAINST the backdrop of Kuala Lumpur’s PETRONAS Twin Towers, the world’s tallest twin structure, crowds of people gathered on New Year’s Eve to welcome 2024.

People soaked up the music and enjoyed the celebration, but it was the vibrant fireworks which lit up the skies here and at many other venues in the country that truly got the crowd’s full attention.

Among them were Shah Alam, Putrajaya, Penang, and Kuching in Sarawak, where people came together to celebrate the year ahead with a spectacle of lights and entertainment.

The events also saw live music and DJ performances as people embraced the joyous occasion with dancing on the streets.

The celebrations lasted well into the wee hours of the morning, with a lively atmosphere that echoed with laughter and some happily ending up sprinkled with confetti.
