KUCHING, Jan 2: No human remains were found in the stomach of a crocodile caught at 10.30pm on Jan 1 at Lorong 2C Samariang Aman.

In a Facebook post today, Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) said an autopsy revealed plastic bags, rubbish, and animal remains, including the chicken used as bait to catch the 11-foot male crocodile weighing 250kg.

In light of that, the SFC urges those living near the rivers not to throw their rubbish into the rivers as it could attract crocodiles.

On Dec 23, a 15-year-old boy went missing after being attacked by a crocodile at Lorong Cahaya 4E in Bandar Baru Samariang.

A day later, on Dec 24, his remains were found with limbs missing and his neck torn, subsequently resulting in an operation to capture crocodiles in the Samariang area from Dec 26, 2023, until Jan 6, 2024. — DayakDaily
