KUCHING, July 8: AirBorneo says it will stick to its all-inclusive fare structure despite suggestions that passengers travelling with only hand luggage should be offered lower-priced tickets.

AirBorneo chief executive officer Megat Ardian Wira Mohd Aminuddin said the airline’s fare structure is designed to provide value through a premium full-service experience, with meals, baggage and seat selection included in the ticket price.

“Our fare is designed to provide value, including food, seat selection, 23kg of checked baggage and 10kg of cabin baggage.

“It is up to the passenger to curate their experience,” he said.

He said this during a question-and-answer (Q&A) session following the airline’s media roundtable held here today.

He added that passengers are free to travel with only cabin baggage if they wish, but the fare will remain unchanged.

“If they are a light traveller with only carry-ons, they are welcome to travel that way, but the fare we provide remains a premium service offering,” he said.

Megat said the bundled fare reflects the airline’s commitment to operating as a premium regional full-service carrier rather than adopting a no-frills model, with the aim of offering passengers a more predictable and inclusive travel experience.

AirBorneo earlier introduced its all-in Sarawak Ku Sayang one-way economy fare from RM375 between Kuching and Kuala Lumpur, which includes airport taxes, complimentary seat selection, a meal, 10kg cabin baggage allowance and 23kg checked baggage.— DayakDaily
