KUCHING (July 21): The Sarawak Civil Service Innovation Convention Award (SCSICA) will be taking place this Oct 21 to 25, coinciding with the currently-running Public Service Innovation Month (SCSIMon).

Cited in a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said SCSIMon’s objective was to provide a platform for sharing experiences and ideas in service delivery excellence.

He added that it also served as a catalyst for fostering a culture of creativity and innovation through various activity platforms, enabling the civil servants to be more competitive and at the same time, raising awareness of the importance of innovation and creativity in the public service.

“In line with this, attention to these aspects of innovation has become a global subject in corporate institutions and public service worldwide, producing ideas that have high impact on global civilisation,” said Mohamad Abu Bakar, whose text speech was read by Deputy State Secretary Datu Hii Chang Kee during the Innovative Creative Circle (ICC) Convention Awards ceremony here on Friday.

Hii, alongside Sarawak Transformation and Innovation Unit director Superi Awang Said, officially launched SCSIMon 2024, themed ‘Excellence in Service Delivery Based on Integrity and Innovation’.

It is stated that 34 agencies under Sarawak civil service and its federal counterparts are taking part in SCSIMon, offering 44 programmes.
