KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 4,568 party-goers were inspected following raids on 70 entertainment outlets nationwide by Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in an operation code-named "Ops Noda".

The raids, conducted by the CID's Anti-vice, gambling and secret societies division (D7), were conducted between 1am and 6pm on Monday (Jan 1).

Bukit Aman CID deputy director Deputy Comm Fadil Marsus said a total of 104 locals and 373 foreigners were nabbed for various criminal and drug-related offences.

"A total of 358 CID officers and 1,425 personnel members were involved in the raids.

"We conducted 15 raids in Johor, Selangor (12), Kuala Lumpur (9), Pahang (8), Penang (7) and three each in Melaka, Sabah and Sarawak as well as two raids each in Kedah, Negri Sembilan and Perak.

"One raid was conducted in Perlis.

"Bukit Aman D7 conducted seven raids," he said when contacted on Monday (Jan 1).

Among the offences committed were operating without a valid entertainment license, employing Guest Relation Officers (GRO), testing positive for drugs and not having valid identification documents, DCP Fadil said.

"We detained 270 foreign women from Vietnam, Thailand, Bangladesh, China, Myanmar, Laos, Indonesia and the Philippines as well as 103 foreign men.

"We also seized RM20,912 cash, 47 sound systems, 20 amplifiers, 53 microphones, 102 bottles of liquor, 12 DJ decks, and 154 receipts," he said.

DCP Fadil said Ops Noda Khas could have a positive impact on society, showing the police, especially the CID, are viewing crimes committed at certain entertainment outlets seriously.

"We urge those with information on any criminal offences or immoral activities to contact the CID as soon as possible," he said.
