Over RM300,000 worth of aid distributed to 61 Senadin farmers under Agriculture Facilitation Fund

MIRI (Nov 2): Sixty-one farmers from the Senadin constituency received aid under the Agriculture Facilitation Fund (AFF) from the Sarawak Agriculture Department, meant to boost their productivity.

Minister of Transport Sarawak Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin said the total amount allocated for this year was more than RM300,000.

Each recipient was given RM5,000 worth of agricultural inputs, including brush cutters, organic and compound fertilisers, weedicides, knapsack sprayers, and sheet covers.

“This aid is meant to raise productivity and not for applicants to sell it in order to make a quick buck,” said Lee, who is Senadin assemblyman, in his speech prior to the presentation ceremony here yesterday.

Also present were Miri Division Agriculture officer Ahmad Zulkifli Said and assistant officer Rizal bin Said.

There are 882 farmers registered under this scheme in the Senadin constituency.
