SIBU, July 7: Several areas in Sibu are expected to experience a scheduled water supply interruption to facilitate pipe crossing installation works at Sing Kwong Shopping Complex here.
In a notice posted by the Sarawak Water Central Region on its Facebook, the water supply interruption is expected to start at 10pm tomorrow (July 8) and is estimated to end at 4am the following day (July 9).
The areas in Sibu that will be affected are Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce to Jalan Paradom (including Jalan Lada, Jalan Then Kung Suk, Jalan Upper Lanang, Jalan Lanang Barat, Jalan Sungai Assan, Jalan Kampung Banyok, Jalan Telok Selalo, Jalan Genting, and Jalan Tanjung Kunyit) and the town centre.
“Consumers are advised to store sufficient water for essential use while the works are ongoing,” it said.
The utility provider said the contractor will make every effort to complete the installation works as soon as possible.
However, if weather or site conditions are unfavourable, the works will be postponed to the following day.
“The public is advised to exercise caution when passing through the affected areas and to adhere to all traffic management plans and safety regulations at the site,” it said.
