KUCHING: Chief political secretary to the Premier, Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, has criticised Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) president Voon Lee Shan for his alleged efforts to create discord among Sarawakians.

Responding to Voon’s call to leverage the ‘Dubai Move’, Fazzrudin said Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is committed to political stability and rejected any disruptive schemes.

He accused the PBK president of stoking political unrest with ulterior motives.

“PBK and Voon have consistently sought to divide Sarawakians, never genuinely fighting for Sarawak’s interests,” Fazzrudin said in a statement recently.

He urged Voon to recognise the achievements of the GPS government and Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

As a senior member of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Fazzrudin reaffirmed GPS’s disinterest in political maneuvers like the ‘Dubai Move’ that risk national crisis.

He echoed Abang Johari’s support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s government until the next election, citing the need for a stable federal leadership to guide economic recovery.

“Political dramas are a distraction from our focus on economic revival,” Fazzrudin added, aligning with Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof’s emphasis on administrative stability.

Highlighting the current government’s achievements, Fazzrudin noted the progress in reclaiming Sarawak’s rights as per the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), Inter-Government Report (IGC) 1962, and the Federal Constitution. He commended the Prime Minister’s efforts in addressing several MA63-related issues.
