MIRI (July 29): A 30-year-old pedestrian died after he was hit by a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle at Jalan Emart Tudan here around 8.35pm on Saturday.
District police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the victim was on his way back from the commercial area when the incident occurred.
“While crossing the road, he was hit by a 4WD vehicle, causing him to sustain injuries to his body,” he said in a statement today.
Alexson said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from Miri Hospital.
“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he added.
