KUCHING (Aug 22): The Love Book Association has donated four new air-conditioning units to the Tanah Puteh health clinic in Pending here.
This donation was secured by Kuching South mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng, who recently learnt about the ‘warm’ condition at the clinic, according to a press release by the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) yesterday.
Upon assessing the situation at the Tanah Puteh health clinic, the mayor and his team sought the Love Book Association for the sponsorship of new air-conditioning units.
“The association contributed four new air-conditioning units and its technical team had also invested significant efforts to overhaul the existing air-conditioning systems at the health clinic premises,” said the statement.
“This includes comprehensive servicing and the provision of necessary parts, with a total expenditure coming to RM30,000,” it added.
In lauding the Love Book Association’s swift and effective response to community service, Wee said this collaborative effort proved that ‘action speaks louder than words’.
Rather than merely discussing the issues at hand, he said the association had taken decisive action to work together with the council and resolve the issues.
“We are pleased with the support from the Love Book Association and their significant contribution to improving the conditions at the clinic.”
“Our focus remains on effective solutions and active engagement to ensure the well-being of all residents,” said MBKS, reiterating its commitment to playing a proactive role in advancing the quality of services for Sarawak.
