KAPIT (Sept 25): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to be here this Sunday for a one-day working visit.
According to a programme sighted by The Borneo Post, the prime minister is expected to arrive by helicopter from Sibu at 10am and attend a development briefing at the Sri Baleh Guesthouse.
Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, who is Kapit MP, will be among those present.
Anwar will then head to the civic centre for a gathering with local community leaders, before officiating the earth-breaking ceremony for the new Kapit district police headquarters at Jalan Bletih at 12.30pm.
He will also be briefed on the construction of bridges across the Rajang River and Sungai Belawai, before heading to Rumah Robert Ngelumbang, Nanga Sebatu for a meet-the-people session.
Among those accompanying Anwar here is Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
The upcoming visit will be Anwar’s fourth to Kapit since 1997.
