KOTA KINABALU (Jan 24): Two premises in the city were targeted by loan sharks, with red paint splashed across their walls in what police are treating as deliberate acts of mischief.

Kota Kinabalu Acting District Police Chief, Superintendent Syed Lot Syed Abdul Rahman, said the incidents occurred at Api-Api Center and Jalan Perpaduan in Kampung Air, reportedly during the night, as confirmed by CCTV footage from both locations.

“No injuries were reported in both incidents,” he said in a statement.

He said police have opened investigations under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and are actively working to track down the suspects.

Syed Lot also urged anyone with information to come forward and assist the authorities by contacting the nearest police station.
