Premier witnesses RM250k zakat handover

KUCHING: Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) and Sarawak Orphans’ Welfare Board (PERYATIM) have received business tithes (zakat) amounting to RM250,000 from Affin Islamic Bank Berhad.

Witnessed by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, the handover of the business tithes took place at the Premier’s office at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN), Petra Jaya, here on today.

TBS received tithes amounting to RM150,000, presented by Affin Islamic Bank Berhad president and group chief Executive officer, Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah Wan Ali.

Meanwhile, tithes amounting to RM100,000 were handed over to the patron of PERYATIM, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang.

Also present were the Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS) president Datuk Misnu Taha, the chairman of Affin Islamic Bank Berhad Musa Abdul Malek, TBS general manager Datuk Abang Mohd Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie, and others.
