Puppetry association hosts conference from Aug 10 to 11

SIBU: The Malaysia Puppetry Association (MPA) will host the International Puppet Therapy and Pedagogy Conference 2024 at the Methodist Pilley Institute (MPI) here from August 10 to 11.

Its organising chairman Dr Loy Chee Luen said that the conference is part of the International Conference on Education and Culture 2024.

The event will feature four keynote speakers, comprising Loy from Malaysia, Wanlu Lunaria from the Philippines, Cheung Chun-fai from Hong Kong and Amit Tanwar from India.

“We will deliver lectures, demonstrations, and performances throughout the conference,” he said in a press conference here on Friday (July 19).

Loy said that the registration is open, with early bird rates of RM360 for non-Sarawakians and RM80 for Sarawakians.

“Early bird registration closes on August 5. After this date, the regular fees will be RM500 for non-Sarawakians and RM120 for Sarawakians,” he said.

Loy also expressed his thanks to Business Event Sarawak (BES) for their support.
