KUCHING (July 9): A total 50 recipients from Satok received contributions from the Ragad Foundation during the Tautan Kasih Tun Taib programme last Saturday.
The foundation’s chairwoman Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib was present to hand over the contributions during the event held at the Pertubuhan Anak Seni Bandarsah Kuching (PASBK) Hall.
She also handed over a mock cheque amounting to RM5,000 to the PASBK for the association’s artistic and welfare activities.
According to a press release, the Tautan Kasih Tun Taib programme by the Ragad Foundation was held in conjunction with the Maal Hijrah celebrations.
It explained that the Satok area was selected because it is where former chief minister and head of state, the late Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, lived when he migrated to Kuching as a school student before continuing his studies in Australia.
Also present were Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Minister Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, PASBK chairman Abdul Rahman Zainuddin and Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi’s wife Datin Siti Shorgayah Ahmad Zaidin.
