KUCHING: The spirit of festivity soared at the Sarawak State Mosque as the highly-anticipated Rahmah Sale drew eager crowds from the break of dawn during the Maal Hijrah Festival 1446H/2024.

Long queues snaked through the sale site well before 8 am, with residents determined to snap up the incredible discounts on offer.

From essential groceries like chicken, fish, and eggs to household staples like cooking oil, flour, and rice, shoppers revelled in significant savings on their purchases.

A collaboration between the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Costs of Living (KPDN) and the Sarawak State Mosque Trust Board (LAKMNS), the two-day event was officiated by LAKMNS chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai.

KPDN’s State Chief Enforcement Officer Peter J Berinus Agan was also present.

The event also saw the distribution of Rahmah Baskets to deserving recipients from the B40 group.
This marked the highly successful second edition of the Rahmah Sale held during Maal Hijrah celebrations at the mosque.
