Rapid Bus to provide 25 buses for Para Sukma athletes

KUCHING: Rapid Bus, the official transport partner, will provide 25 buses for Para Sukma athletes during the 21st Para Malaysia Games (Para Sukma), from Sept 22 to 28.

“Additionally, we will also have Grab, who is also offering sponsorships such as food vouchers, points, and promo codes and will be the official e-hailing partner for Para Sukma XXI 2024,” said Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.

“I extend my thanks and highest appreciation to the sponsors and I am confident that with support from all parties, we can make Sukma and Para Sukma successful events and leave a positive impact on the development of national sports,” she added.

Fatimah said this during the 21st Sukma and Para Sukma sponsors appreciation ceremony at Sheraton Hotel here on Wednesday (July 17).

This year’s Para Sukma will be held in Kuching Division, featuring 10 sports with 334 events, involving 13 states.

“Sarawak has been the champion 13 times in a row, from 1994 to 2018. However, in the last championship in Kuala Lumpur, Sarawak only managed to secure second place.

“Therefore, our target this year is to reclaim the championship as the event is hosted by us.”

A total of 2,470 athletes and officials are expected for the Para Sukma 2024.

“As the host, we are entrusted with the responsibility to provide a conducive environment, give sustained support, and ensure every participant has a meaningful experience.

“Together, let us make the Para Sukma 2024 a success, ensuring Sarawak becomes the best host and overall champion,” stressed Fatimah.
