BINTULU: Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming has expressed his strong support for Muay Thai sports, focusing particularly on engaging the youth.

He viewed Muay Thai as an effective means to foster community spirit, encourage self-discipline, and promote healthy living among youth.

Pang’s enthusiasm is evident as he observes the growing interest and commitment to Muay Thai here, especially among the youth.

“I am happy to see the development of Muay Thai sports and hope that Bintulu will be the host for this event at the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA) next year,” he said when officiating the opening of Sapphire Gym 69 and Combat Sports Gym recently.

Shahrol Taha, the owner of Sapphire Gym 69 and Combat Sports Gym, said that the primary goal of opening the sports centre is to uncover new Muay Thai talents and deterring youth from engaging in unhealthy activities.
