BUKIT BEGUNAN: Any instances of illegal logging must be reported immediately to the authorities for a swift action to be taken.
Bukit Begunan assemblyman Datuk Mong Dagang pointed this out saying that Sarawak will not issue licenses for logging activities anymore.
He emphasised to the public, especially village leaders, should report any suspicious logging activities that occur in their respective areas.
He also urged the local community leaders to report these activities promptly to prevent any undesirable incidents.
He made these remarks during the Leaders Meet the People event at Rumah Kedeni on Friday (July 5).
Additionally, he reminded the public not to exploit the situation by smuggling timber, especially in remote areas.
Meanwhile, during the event, Mong Dagang approved a Rural Transformation Project (RTP) fund of RM100,000 for cementing work in front of the longhouse and RM15,000 under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) fund for the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Rumah Kedeni.
