Road closures in Miri for Madani Rakyat programme on Sept 27-29

MIRI (Sept 25): Several roads here will be closed and diverted beginning this Friday (Sept 27) until Sunday (Sept 29) for the Madani Rakyat programme at Boulevard mall compound.

District police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the affected roads include Jalan Boulevard Utama, Jalan Vinca, and the exit road to Jalan Boulevard 2D.

“The closure and diversion of these roads will ensure smooth traffic during the programme starting this Friday until Sunday,” he said in a statement last night.

The public who wishes to go to the programme is advised to park their vehicles at the Miri Stadium parking lot or the public parking lot near Boulevard Shopping Mall.

Alexson said for those who park their vehicles at Miri Stadium, free buses will be provided from the stadium to Boulevard shopping mall.

“The public is also reminded not to park their vehicles on road shoulders and to follow the instructions of police officers on duty,” he said.

On another note, Alexson said police will be offering a 50 per cent discount on outstanding traffic summonses throughout the three-day programme.

“A total of 14 counters will be set up for checking and payment of summonses. For further information, the public can contact the traffic police station at 085-430479.”
