Robber harms convenience store worker

KUCHING: A 24-hour convenience store was robbed at the wee hours at MJC Batu Kawa.

Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi said that the incident happened around 3am yesterday morning (July 27).

“At the time of the incident the man was believed to be wearing a helmet, in black clothing and was holding a parang.

“The convenience store reported that the man demanded RM50 and threatened him,” he said when contacted.

Mohd Irwan said no arrests have been made on the suspect, as that the police are currently investigating the case via video surveillance through the convenience store’s closed-circuit television (CCTV).

Further reports stated that the suspect fled in a car after grabbing the money.

The cashier of the convenience store quickly called the police and lodged a report pertaining to the incident.
