KUCHING: Sarawak Energy will conduct routine testing of its flood warning stations in Lubok Antu on November 15.
In a statement today (Nov 13), the state owned electric utility company stated that the testing of the warning stations is scheduled to start at 10 am. The alarm will be activated for a period of one to two minutes each time, and testing will conclude at 5pm.
The company reminded communities in the vicinity of Lubok Antu that warning tones could be heard up to a 3km distance from the respective stations.
The number of alarm activations and their timing are not fixed, as they depend on the work or testing progress.
The company reassured the public that this exercise aimed at enhancing the safety and preparedness levels of its operations within the communities it serves. This aligns its emergency response programme with international standards.
