MIRI (Sept 14): Sarawak Oil Palms (SOP) Pelita Batu Lintang Plantation Sdn Bhd presented a dividend cheque for RM743,388 to Penghulu Mingging Sigan, in a ceremony held in Sri Aman recently.

According to the company, the dividend distribution reaffirms the plantation group’s commitment to community engagement and equitable profit-sharing.

It also said the dividend payout highlighted the ongoing collaboration between SOP and the local stakeholders.

Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Sarawak Datuk Francis Harden Hollis officiated at the event, which also carried out the issuance of ‘Certification of Application’ to stakeholders involved in the Ulu Undop native land development project.

A total of 15 students with outstanding academic achievements were honoured in the Outstanding Student Award (APC) programme, where the presentation of cash incentives and stationery was held at the event as well.

One-off cash incentives and stationery sets were also presented to 30 children registered under ‘Bantuan Anak Angkat’ (BAA) programme.

“Both the APC and BAA are parts of our ongoing efforts to support the community through the native land development project,” said SOP in a statement.
