Sabah engineering bodies to hold CNY Open House and Lion Dance Performance

KOTA KINABALU (Feb 12): The Sabah Engineers Association (SEA), The Institution of Engineers Malaysia, Sabah Branch (IEM Sabah) and the Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia, Sabah Branch (ACEM Sabah) will jointly host  the 2026 Chinese New Year Open House and Lion Dance Performance on February 28 at the IEM Sabah Damai Office.
The event, which commences at 11am, will create a lively and festive atmosphere for members of the engineering fraternity and their families.
The organizing committee has invited appointed State Assemblyman Datuk Ir. Chin Shu Ying  as the guest of honour and Datuk Ir. Shahelmey Yahya, the Member of Parliament for Putatan and Chairman of Sabah Oil & Gas Development Corporation (SOGDC), as the special guest.
The presidents of the three engineering bodies, namely Datuk Ir. Ts. Mohd Yaakob bin Haji Jaafar, Chairman of IEM Sabah; Ir. CC Lo, President of SEA; and Ir. Benny Song Chairman of ACEM Sabah will attend the programme.
Wendy Wong is organising chairperson.
The programme will include a lion dance performance, a festive Chinese New Year luncheon, and the distribution of ang pow packets to children, fostering a warm and joyful atmosphere.
The organisers stated that the purpose of the event is to strengthen collaboration within the engineering community and to promote the cultural traditions of the Chinese New Year.
