Saberkas Pelawan Sarawak Day’s Run receives 843 entries

SIBU (July 18): Registration for the Saberkas Pelawan ‘722 Run for Sarawak’, to be flagged off this Sunday at Stadium Tun Zaidi here, has reached a total of 843 entries.

Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang, in a press conference here yesterday, thanked the public for registering to the event hosted by the Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (Saberkas) for the Pelawan constituency.

Tiang, who is Pelawan assemblyman, also welcomed those who had yet to register to take part in the run.

“Our event will start at 5.45am at Stadium Tun Zaidi to commemorate July 22 as a meaningful and important day for all Sarawakians.

“Through this celebration, we can revisit Sarawak’s history of how we earned self-governance rights before the formation of Malaysia,” said Tiang who initiated the 722 Run for his constituency in 2017.

In this Sunday’s event, the runners will be flagged off from Stadium Tun Zaidi where they have to reach the junction of Jalan Pahlawan before making a U-turn back to the stadium.
