BAU, Aug 7: Sarawak Energy Berhad, in collaboration with Association of Wives of Ministers and Assistant Ministers of Sarawak (Sabati) donated two hemodialysis machines to Bau Hospital to meet increasing patient needs.
The handover ceremony was graced by Sabati president Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Transport who is also Tasik Biru assemblyman Dato Henry Harry Jinep, Bau Hospital director Dr Jasmany Liboh and Sarawak Energy senior vice president for Corporate Services Siti Aisah Adenan.
In a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Sarawak Energy emphasised that the hemodialysis machines will address the urgent need to replace old and damaged medical equipment at the hospital.
It was reported that Bau Hospital is currently experiencing an increase in demand for hemodialysis treatment.
Additionally, Sarawak Energy and Sabati will be contributing two hemodialysis machines to Simunjan Hospital.
Sarawak Energy expressed its continued commitment to supporting hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout Sarawak through the contribution of electrocardiogram (ECG) machines, dialysis machines, ambulances, and funduscopy machines, among others.
The energy company has also funded cataract operations in Kapit, Mukah-Balingian, Sungai Asap, Murum and Sri Aman, in addition to collaborating with local communities in health-focused initiatives.
Sabati deputy president Datin Amar Doreen Mayang, Maksak Sarawak Women chairperson Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang, Sabati honorary secretary Datin Siti Shorgayah Ahmad Zaidin, and Bau District Officer Constantine Gerald David Jonas were among those present. — DayakDaily
