Sarawak honours 149 recipients at grand investiture ceremony in Astana Negeri

KUCHING, June 30: A total of 149 recipients were conferred State Honours by the Governor of Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, at an investiture ceremony held at Astana Negeri Sarawak today.

According to TVS news, the ceremony began with the conferment of the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak, Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K.), awarded to 13 recipients, including Awang Yusup Awang Mostapha, Cerisologo Sabut, Ismail Kasah, Dr Nicholas Janek, Dr Victor Luna Amin, Mohamad Razali Arshad, Mohammad Nizam Wang, Omar Bahrein Unin, David Branch Ambor, Gilbert Igi, Bahrin Kawi, Yasit Abd Razak and Joseph Liaw.

This was followed by the Pingat Pentadbiran Awam, Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (P.P.B), presented to 21 recipients, including Allin Bandang, Azman Mahli and Bilong Engkas, among others.

In the same segment, 10 individuals were also conferred the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak, Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S.).

The investiture then continued with the conferment of the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak, Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K.) to 24 recipients, followed by the Pingat Pentadbiran Awam, Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (P.P.T) awarded to 37 individuals.

The ceremony concluded with 44 recipients being honoured with the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak, Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S).

Also in attendance was wife of the Governor Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

Among other dignitaries present were Speaker of the Sarawak Legislative Assembly Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, Deputy Minister for Education and Innovation Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee, and Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Ir Aidel Lariwoo. — DayakDaily
