Sarawak Powerlifting Open 3.0 set to welcome athletes from Malaysia, Brunei

KUCHING (Aug 17): Seventy-one powerlifters from Malaysia and Brunei will be competing in the Third Sarawak Powerlifting Open Championship at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), running from Aug 24 to 25.

The events are Men’s Open and Women’s Open, Junior and Sub-Junior, and Masters.

The competition is aimed at growing and promoting the powerlifting sports, and also to select Sarawak representatives for the National Powerlifting Championship, and eventually, those to represent the country at the international meets.

“It is also to make Sarawak a powerhouse in powerlifting in the country,” said the organizer in a statement.
