KUCHING: Ketek, a Sarawak-based application set to invigorate the region’s digital economy, has reached its final stages and is ready for release.

Its co-founder Qadafi Johari conveyed excitement about the imminent release and expressed gratitude to those anticipating the locally developed solution poised to make waves in Sarawak’s digital landscape.

He said the app takes its name from a term popularised by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari, signifying “press” or “tap” in the local dialect.

“The much-anticipated launch of Ketek is slated for December in Kuching,” he revealed in a Facebook post.

Distinguishing itself from competitors, Ketek boasts a zero-commission model for food vendors, ensuring that prices on the platform align with those in the physical establishments.

Notably, all generated revenue goes directly to the delivery runners, with no deductions for commissions.

One of Ketek’s features is its inclusivity, offering language options in English, Malay, and Chinese to cater to a diverse user base.

The platform introduces a three-tier system encompassing Ketek Vendor, Ketek Rider, and the end-user, promising a comprehensive and user-friendly experience.
