Sarawak's youth hope Malaysia continues to move forward, united

SARATOK, 16 September: The celebration of the 63rd Malaysia Day as a youth event in Sarawak expresses hope for further development of Sarawak and Malaysia, as well as strengthening people's unity and cooperation.

The student, Jacqueen Nyandang hopes that the people of Malaysia and Sarawak will remain united in the future, while the state leadership continues to bring Sarawak into a competitive province.

"I hope that Malaysia and Sarawak will continue to unite and move together towards a more progressive future. I also hope that our leader especially Abang Jo (Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg) is given the strength and wisdom to continue leading Sarawak with a vision of making it a competitive state as well as a prosperous Malaysia", he said during his meeting with TVS in Saratok today.

Meanwhile, Gan Hui Shia students hope that Sarawak's Prime Minister, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will continue to be given the power and wisdom to lead Sarawak alongside Malaysia to achieve more successes that benefit the people.

"My special hope to Brother Jo (Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Brother Johari Tun Openg), I hope he can be given the strength and wisdom to continue leading Sarawak into a competitive and prosperous state in the region", he said.

For Nur Ain Syuhada Azli Ezuan, the progress of Sarawak and Malaysia is expected to be accompanied by more initiatives and assistance to ensure the welfare and well-being of people.

"The initiative given by the government at this time is a convenience for the people because it can make their lives easier. Moreover, if people cannot afford to buy something, government initiatives can help them get kitchenware or daily necessities", he said.

In the meantime, student Darrelyn Mya Unyang Lawai hoped that Malaysia Day celebration will continue to spread the spirit of unity amongst communities and maintain people's harmony between different races and religions.

"My hope is for national unity so that we can be a country that not only prioritizes progress but also unity because unity is the milestone for our country so that our country can become a country of peace, security and harmony", he explained.

Malaysia Day is celebrated on 16 September every year to commemorate the formation of Malaysia in 1963 involving the Federation of Tanah Melayu, Sabah and Sarawak.
