“The visit formed part of ongoing diplomatic and business engagement efforts aimed at strengthening international cooperation and fostering closer ties between Ukraine and Sarawak.

Key areas of discussion included the expansion of bilateral trade and investment cooperation between Ukraine and Sarawak, as well as the identification of new opportunities for collaboration in strategic sectors.

Emphasis was placed on the energy sector, including renewable energy and related technologies, which both parties recognised as having strong potential for future partnership, innovation exchange, and sustainable development.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of fostering closer engagement between the Ukrainian and Sarawak business communities.

Discussions included the need to encourage greater business networking opportunities, improve channels for communication between enterprises, and support business-to-business linkages that could facilitate commercial partnerships.

In addition, the meeting explored potential avenues for institutional cooperation between relevant organisations in Ukraine and Sarawak, to establish more structured frameworks for long-term collaboration and sustained engagement at both governmental and business levels.

SBF reiterated its commitment to promoting Sarawak as an open and business-friendly environment that actively encourages international engagement.

The federation also emphasised its role in supporting initiatives that contribute to economic development through strategic partnerships and cross-border collaboration.

“The meeting provided a platform for both parties to exchange views on a range of matters of mutual interest, particularly in relation to trade, investment, and broader economic collaboration.

“Discussions were conducted in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, reflecting the shared interest in deepening bilateral relations,” it said. — DayakDaily
