SARIKEI, July 7: Preparations for the Sarawakku Sayang (SKS) 2026 for the Central Zone have entered the final stretch, with final preparations now underway ahead of its Aug 7 to 9 programme.

According to a news release by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the final preparations are now being coordinated following a site inspection and coordination meeting at the Sarikei Sports Complex today.

Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Operations) and SKS 2026 Programme Committee chairman Datu Hii Chang Kee led the site visit, which involved representatives from various government departments and agencies.

The inspection focused on the layout of exhibition spaces, visitor movement, logistical requirements and technical preparations at the venue.

The committee also reviewed visitor facilities and preparations for the arrival of Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is expected to officiate the programme.

Also present were representatives from the Sarikei Division Administration, Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR), Sarawak Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED), and several other departments and agencies.

Following the inspection, a coordination meeting was held at the Sarawak Government Administration Centre (IAC) in Sarikei to finalise logistics, programme arrangements and the distribution of responsibilities among organising committees.

The meeting also discussed proposed activities and operational requirements as part of the final preparations.

The SKS 2026 Central Zone Programme, to be held at the Sarikei Sports Complex, will feature government service counters, exhibitions and community activities. — DayakDaily
