SEA Games 2027: Sarawak Stadium upgrade ahead of schedule

KUCHING, Sept. 17: Work on upgrading Sarawak Stadium shows positive progress as the project progress now reaches 33.65 percent, exceeding the original target of 30.79 percent.

Sarawak Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Minister Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the progress shows that the project is now ahead of schedule.

"Now the actual progress is 33.65 percent, compared to 30.79 percent planned. That means we're 2.86% ahead of schedule.

"The good thing is that we were informed the contractors already have the necessary things here, including aluminum, building facades and also interiors. This is a very encouraging development", he said during a press conference of Project Progress and Project Site Visit Naiktaraf Stadium Sarawak in Kuching on Thursday.
