MIRI (Nov 3): The Senadin Centre Mobile Service 2U Team has conducted four sessions of mobile outreach programmes to date, in its efforts to facilitate the applications for the Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC) and Senior Citizen Health Benefit (SCHB).

According to Senadin assemblyman Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, the previous mobile service sessions were held on Oct 26 and 27, with the recent ones on Nov 2 and 3 at Permy Mall and Emart Tudan here.

“This initiative by the Senadin Service Centre, in collaboration with the Miri Welfare Office, is part of our public service to the community, to encourage more senior citizens to apply for the KGC membership and also the SCHB,” said the state Minister of Transport.

He said through this mobile service programme, the applicants would be able to collect their membership cards on the spot, right after successful registration.

“As for the SCHB, the service team and welfare officers were assigned to assist the applicants to fill-up the necessary forms, whereby the local community leaders such as Kapitan and Ketua Kaum helped to certify the forms.

“Over 1,000 Kenyalang Gold Cards were issued and about 2,000 SCHB application forms were submitted during the last sessions on Nov 2 and 3,” he disclosed.

“I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to officers from the Welfare Department, Telekom Malaysia Bhd, Borneo Medical Centre Miri, and owners of Permy Mall and Emart for the successful collaboration.

“The Sarawak government is constantly making policies, aimed at enhancing the welfare and well-being of the citizens in Sarawak,” he added.
