KUCHING, Jan 29: Twenty winners can stand a chance to win prizes worth RM5,000 at the Kuching South City Council’s (MBKS) Shall Wee Dance Challenge 2024 by submitting videos of their most creative dance moves.
MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said the top 20 videos for the competition would be selected and published on his Facebook page for the public to judge by giving the videos a ‘Like’.
According to Wee, in light of the enthusiastic response, the competition’s entry submission deadline has been extended until 11am on Feb 29.
“The Shall Wee Dance Challenge 2024 is open to all school students. This is an opportunity to express their unique perspectives and innovative dance style even when they are required to follow the dance tutorial uploaded on our Facebook Page,” he told a press conference at MBKS Headquarters today.
He said the challenge encourages students to participate in the dance competition while showcasing their creativity.
He also said it promotes engagement with children, which aligns with the council’s efforts to create a ‘Child-Friendly City’.
To participate in the Shall Wee Dance Challenge 2024, registration must be submitted to MBKS’s Whatsapp (010-6601919) with the dance video link.
Participants also must include their full name, identification card numbers, and Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok tag (i.e. @xxxx), and their social media account must be set to ‘public’.
Participants will be judged by the number of ‘Likes’ received during the two sessions. The first session will be on March 1 at 11am, and the top 20 videos will proceed to the next round, which will be announced later.
The final judging session will be held on March 8 at 11am, and the winners will be announced on that day.
