KUCHING, July 30: The Sarawak-China Friendship Association (SCFA), supported by the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Kuching, has extended the submission deadline for its Short Video Contest to Sept 30.
According to a press release, the contest commemorates the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Malaysia and China and acknowledges the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Consulate-General of China in Kuching.
Its aim is to highlight the enduring friendship between Sarawak and China through short videos that showcase achievements in trade, education, culture, and tourism.
The Contest’s organising committee chairman Dr Wang Yin Chai said the deadline extension is based on feedback and careful consideration.
“Although the contest was launched on April 27, creating an exceptional video necessitates ample time to gather relevant materials.
“This extension provides participants with two additional months to capture footage, ensuring high-quality submissions closely aligned with the theme,” he stated.
Themed ’50 Years of Glory, and Beyond’, the contest welcomes all individuals and enthusiasts passionate about creating short videos and films to participate.
All participants will receive certificates of participation, recognising their efforts and achievements in contributing to the contest’s theme.
The contest features prizes amounting to RM62,000, highlighted by a grand prize of RM15,000 in cash and a ‘China Round-trip Airfare and Accommodation’ package valued at RM6,000.
Additionally, prizes include RM10,000 for second place, RM8,000 for third place, and five consolation prizes of RM1,000 each.
There are also three lucky draw prizes, each comprising a ‘China Round-trip Airfare and Accommodation’ valued at RM6,000.
