Sibu cops issue 44 summonses during Ops Samseng Jalanan

SIBU (July 13): The police here issued 44 summonses to motorcyclists caught committing various traffic offences during the Ops Samseng Jalanan, conducted at Sibu Jaya and Jalan Airport on Friday night.

Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said a total of 29 men, aged between 15 and 23, underwent checks, and nine motorcycles were impounded, during the operation that ran from 9.30pm to midnight.

“Among the offences detected were driving without a licence, expired licence, structural and exhaust modifications, no side mirrors, fancy car plate numbers, and underage driving,” he said in a statement.

Zulkipli advised everyone to obey traffic laws, and reminded parents to always monitor and be aware of their children’s activities so that they would not engage in any illegal activities.
