Sibu MP’s subsidised food sale series taking place again this Saturday

SIBU (Oct 24): The next installment of Sibu MP Oscar Ling’s sale of subsidised food will take place at Medan Department Store in Jalan Wawasan here this Saturday (Oct 26).

Ling said the event will run from 11.30am to 2.30pm, or until all items are sold out.

“We are preparing 1,000 sets of specially subsidised food items, to be available on a first-come first-serve basis. Each household is limited to one set,” he said in a statement.

Each set contains items such as 5kg white rice, 30 eggs, canned baked beans and sweet corn, cookies, bihun and instant noodles.

Each set is priced at RM30, down from the original RM45.

Ling called on Jalan Wawasan folks to take advantage of the event, but asked them to refrain from crowding the front of the supermarket.

“There should be enough food sets for every household,” he said.
