TATAU (July 25): Minister in the Premier’s Department Dato Sri John Sikie Tayai on Tuesday made a working visit to the site of the proposed Tatau Sports Complex.

The RM15 million project, to be carried out in two phases, is expected to be tendered in the final quarter of this year.

Phase one will include the construction of a grandstand cum sports hall, a futsal court, and a parking area.

The second phase will focus on building a detention pond, running track, and a football field.

During the visit, Sikie, who is Kakus assemblyman, received a detailed briefing from Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) on the project’s implementation.

The briefing was conducted by architect Andre Kueh Richard Mering and senior engineer King Siew Wen, who provided insights into the project’s progress and future plans.
