Minister in the Premier’s Department Datuk Seri John Sikie Tayai said this includes preparation of detailed building designs and tender documents.

“The tender is expected to be issued in the first quarter of next year and the project will take up to 18 months,” he said when delivering his ministerial winding-up speech at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting today (Nov 27).

“The project status  at this point is in the process of identifying a suitable site and to get the approval of the Sarawak Planning Council. The construction is expected to start at the end of 2024.

“For the old office of Maludam sub-district, the Sarawak Public Works Department has been asked to carry out an assessment of the building’s condition to determine the level of damage and the safety status of the building,” he said.

Sikie also said the government intends to locate a space for the new Simunjan District Agriculture Office at the Simunjan District Sarawak Government Administration Centre.

“The construction of the Sarawak Government Administration Centre in Simunjan District is listed in the Service Quarters and Sarawak Government Office Building Construction Project and it has been approved in the Mid-Term Review of the 12MP.
