Single-vehicle crash near Miri sees girl’s leg caught in motorcycle chain

MIRI (Oct 11): A nine-year-old girl had her leg caught in the chain of her father’s motorcycle following a crash at Jalan Bypass Miri today.

The Lopeng fire station in a statement said its personnel were dispatched to the scene after being alerted at 4.30pm.

“The girl’s father was unhurt but her leg was caught in the motorcycle’s chain. Our team proceeded to cut the chain and successfully freed the girl,” it said.

It said the child was given first aid treatment before being handed over to medical personnel from Miri Hospital.

The rescue operation ended at 4.55pm.
