SEBUYAU, July 21: SMK Sebuyau will be rebuilt at a new location in Sebuyau new township to replace the old building which is currently facing infrastructure problems.
According to a report by TVS, Sarawak Minister of Utility and Telecommunication (MUT) Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi said there are positive signs for the development of the school after the problem was repeatedly brought up to the concerned parties.
Julaihi who is also Sebuyau assemblyman explained that there is no planning period for the rebuilding of the school and until the new school is completed, he will extend help to address the current school’s needs.
“When this matter was raised with the relevant parties several times, I have seen signs that they will take positive and immediate action to build a full replacement school of SMK Sebuyau on a new site in Bandar Baru Sebuyau.
“However, as we wait for the new school to be completed later, we need the existing school to be repaired and put infrastructure in place that allows it to be conducive for learning.
“I have also approved my allocation to build a new community hall costing RM500,000 near the futsal field site, so I hope construction can start soon to provide the much-needed facilities for SMK Sebuyau,” he was reported as saying during the closing ceremony of ‘SABATI-Petros Rural Education Programme: SPM 2024 Excellence Seminar’ held at Sebuyau Multipurpose Hall yesterday (July 20). — DayakDaily
