SMK Suai hosts ceremony for STPM 2023 graduating students

A total of 67 SMK Suai Form 6 students of Session 2023 were celebrated in a Form 6 Students Graduation Ceremony held recently.

MIRI (Sept 14): SMK Suai hosted a graduation cum awards presentation ceremony for its Form 6 graduating students at a hotel here recently.

In a statement, the school said a total of 67 students received their leaving certificates, with some receiving special awards at the ceremony that was officiated by the deputy minister of Health and Sibuti MP Dato Lukanisman Awang Sauni.

“Johansson Laga Jerry, the school’s best student for Business Studies Elective and best pre-university academic student, received an offer to continue his study at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Perak in Bachelor of Education (History) with Honours.

“The recipient of the Best Student for the Geography Elective, Michelle Begi John Asin, was also offered to continue her studies at Universiti Malaysia Sabah in Bachelor of Social Sciences (Geography) with Honours.

“Anthony Keti Chow, the recipient of the Pre-university Academic Student of the Year and also the Principal’s Special Award Student Figure, meanwhile managed to get an offer in the field of Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at Universiti Teknologi Mara,” said the statement.

Through the University Central Unit (UPU) Online review on Sept 6, the school disclosed that a total of 32 students who sat for the 2023 Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) examination had received offer into public universities for the 2024/2025 academic session.

“SMK Suai Form 6 Centre showed improvement in terms of school average grade (GPS) and emerged as the best rural school in the Subis District Education Office in last year’s STPM.

“A student, Johansson Laga, scored a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.00 in the 2023 STPM, with 25 other students attaining CGPA of above 3.00,” it said.

In recognition for the commitment of the school’s academic staff, ten Form 6 teachers also received their appreciation awards at the event.
