BINTULU (July 11): A total of 935 interview sessions were conducted during the Bintulu Youth Exhibition 2.0, hosted by Junior Chamber International (JCI) and Social Security Organisation (Socso) at the Boulevard Shopping Mall here recently.
The second edition of the Bintulu Youth Exhibition featured a range of engaging activities such as e-sports, zumba session, ‘Rummikub’ tournament, cosplay competition, a soap-making exhibition and health-related talks by the Health Ministry (Bintulu Division).
Socso Bintulu office manager Fenny Lim said the programme had not only attracted local job seekers but also those from Sibu, Betong, Kuching, Miri and Mukah, among others.
“Socso Bintulu’s career programme serves as a platform for direct interaction between job seekers and employers, whereby we have 19 participating employers from diverse industries, including oil and gas, manufacturing, healthcare, and construction,” she said.
“Out of the 935 applicants during the job interview sessions, 59 individuals successfully secured employment while another 340 candidates were qualified for subsequent screening interviews,” said the statement.
The exhibition was officially closed by a political secretary to Sarawak Premier Angellie Stephen Raja, who represented Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang.
