KUCHING (Aug 6): The Malaysian Armed Forces foiled an attempt today by four foreigners to enter Sarawak illegally, near Biawak in Lundu.

The First Infantry Division in a statement said Malaysian and Indonesian soldiers carrying out joint patrols some 200 metres from the Indonesian border near at 12.15pm when they noticed two men and two women attempting to cross into Malaysia.

“The undocumented foreigners are between 32 and 49 years old. Checks on their belongings found only their cash, mobile phones, wallet, and a bag of clothes.

“No contraband items were found on them,” it said.

The four were then escorted to the border for deportation back to Indonesia.
