BINTULU: The Bintulu Security Organisation (SOCSO) assisted two recipients of Temporary Disablement Benefit (HUS) and Invalidity Pension Benefit (PKT) in Uma Kulit Resettlement Scheme in Sungai Asap, Belaga.
The first recipient is Jomi John, who was involved in a self-accident on November 5 last year while returning home from work.
John, who works as a mechanic, suffered a serious brain injury and requires full-time care from family members, as well as rehabilitation equipment such as milk, disposable diapers, and other equipment recommended by the doctor.
The second recipient is Lourrence Luyuh, 51, who passed away on November 28 last year due to a bacterial infection.
The organisation informed that based on their records, the family, which has four children under 21 years old, qualifies for a monthly pension from PERKESO.
Present during the SOCSO visit were Murum assemblyman Kennedy Chukpai Ugon, Bintulu SOCSO office support manager Jimmy Hendrick Kijon, along with the Synergy Unit of SOCSO Bintulu.
Meanwhile, Chukpai expressed gratitude to SOCSO for their concern for the well-being of those unable to work, especially due to work-related accidents, and also for the families of contributors who have passed away.
