Ling distributes vouchers during a previously held subsidised food sale at Star Megamall.
SIBU (Sept 27): Sibu MP Oscar Ling’s parliamentary service centre will host a special sale of subsidised food at the Orange Zone of Star Megamall Shopping Centre here tomorrow (Sept 28).
Ling in a statement said the event will run from 9am to noon, with 1,000 sets of specially subsidised food items available on a first-come first-serve basis.
“The original price of the nine food items in each set is RM82.05, and this will be reduced to RM55 after the subsidy – a saving of 32 per cent.
The food items include 10kg white rice, biscuits, a tray of 30 eggs, instant noodles, sugar, packet cooking oil and canned condensed milk.
“These are all normal necessities and household food which the people consume daily,” he added.
He also said those who purchase children or adult milk powder worth RM20 or above at the event will be entitled to a RM5 petrol voucher.
Ling said amidst rising food prices, the Madani government is trying its best to reduce the burden of the people by organising various activities including subsidised food sales.
