KUCHING (July 30): Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) has launched the Ethics Complaint Service aimed to receive complaints about misconduct related to disciplinary and criminal offences among members of the agency.

Launched by its general manager Zainal Abidin Abdullah yesterday, the Ethics Complaint Service serves as an important internal control in the fight against corruption, as specified in MS ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS), and is in accordance with STIDC’s Whistleblower Policy.

“With the launch of this Ethics Complaint Service, supported by transparent, systematic, efficient, and fair detection and verification processes, STIDC demonstrates its commitment to a no-compromise stance on disciplinary and criminal offences, particularly those related to corruption, misconduct, and abuse of power,” he said.

Zainal Abidin pointed out that complaint management is one of the core functions of STIDC’s Integrity Section, which is responsible for handling ethics complaints in line with the Sarawak State Integrity Circular No. 2 of 2019.

He explained that this circular outlines the guidelines for managing integrity units in state and federal public agencies.

The public and all STIDC members can submit complaints via STIDC’s website at www.sarawak.timber.gov.my.
